What a tour!
Touring is an important part of any musician's life - and the TAMC tour certainly offers some unforgettable memories for the young players involved. TAMT offers a biannual tour, and this year will see senior musicians performing in Paris.
The 5-day, 4-night tour departed on Thursday July 24th, returning late on Monday 28th. A music tour really is a fantastic opportunity to spend time with friends, take in some of the sights, and perform in some stunning venues, and this year was no exception!
The 2014 tour had three very different, but equally magical venues:
Eglise de la Madeleine, Paris
Built in a neo-classical style to honour Napoleon's armies, this magnificent building takes its inspiration from Roman buildings with 52 corinthian columns. It hosts regular concerts and music festivals, and is right in the heart of Paris.
Notre Dame - Outside performance
One of Paris' most famous landmarks, and visited by thousands of tourists each day, no visit to Paris would be complete without a visit to this fabulous building. With an outside performance and a potential audience in the thousands, TAMC musiciains will be performing in the gardens alongside the cathedral.
Having successfully auditioned to play here, the TAMC groups will be performed to holiday makers at the special performance station in the park. They will also get to sample the sights and sounds of Disneyland Paris, two parks filled with over 50 rides and amusements including the famous Space Mountain Mission 2 and Big Thunder Mountain.
A lasting impression
The groups had a fantastic reception with generous audience numbers everywhere they went - they even gained a new Twitter follower who left them this postcard of appreciation as they left!
